One thing that I really like about this class so far is that I often have found myself thinking about something I read in the text as I deal with everyday situations in my classroom. I just took the quiz on pages 10 and 11. It was interesting that for some of the areas I had to mark a true for both the positive side and negative side. I think that in some stiuations I do a good job but others I tend to focus on the negative. It really depends on the situation. Lately I have been making conscious effort to cut back on the negatives and focus on the positives. I think my biggest fault is I tend to worry a little too much about results and focus on the times when they do poorly. I think I need to focus more on the things they can do.
Last of all the students are really enjoying the activities from the book. So far I have just used them at the end of the day but they get excited when we do one.
This class has really made me sit back and just remember that I have to keep laughter in the classroom. I think I teach in spurts because after taking the quiz I am close to being "teacher of the year" not, but I also had a lot from the other side. Maybe I am bipolar. Every day I start class with current news and now I am adding silly stories as well
